Claggett Center Offering Meals for Furloughed Federal Employees
BUCKEYSTOWN, MD - January 23, 2019 As part of the mission and ministry to serve all in Christian hospitality, the Claggett Center is offering complimentary meals to federal employees in need of assistance during the government shutdown. Federal employees and their families, who are not getting paid at this time, are invited to join us as our guest at any of our conference centers meals this week, January 22-27.

According to Lisa Marie Ryder, Co-Executive Director, “We see in our community the number of individuals and families who are struggling during the government shutdown. We are able to meet an immediate need by opening up our dining hall and inviting federal employees to join us as a guest at our table.”
“We believe in supporting and helping our community. The initial response to this initiative has been overwhelmingly positive. We hope the Claggett Center is able to offer some relief during a time when finances are stretched thin,” shared James Ryder, Co-Executive Director.

The Claggett Center is the camp, conference, and retreat center of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.
