Keynote Speaker: The Rev. Dr. Rick Laribee
The Rev. Dr. Richard Laribee currently serves Christ Church, West River as priest-in-charge. He and his wife Kim Laribee live both in upstate NY and in southern Maryland. Rick grew up on the Florida Keys — where he served as deckhand for his father, a fishing and diving guide. Thus began his life-long love for the sea.
Pastoring churches in two denominations gave Rick the opportunity to study, explore, and deeply experience the classic spiritual disciplines in community from different perspectives. In addition to teaching in American colleges, his teaching at the American University of Iraq (Sulaimania, Iraq) gave him the opportunity to study, explore, and experience the three Abrahamic religions from within birthplace in the Middle East.
A passionate traveler, Rick has explored and photographed natural, cultural, historical and religious sites in Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, Italy, China, Mexico, Central America, South America, Wales, Scotland, England, Spain, Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. In retirement, Rick continues to enjoy sailing, speaking, writing, exploration and discovery.
