Women's Weekend 2022

Women's Weekend 2022

February 25, 2022 - February 27, 2022

“Regathering and Re-creating: God Makes All Things New”

Celebrating 21 years in 2021, the Women’s Weekend invites women from all walks of life to gather at Claggett for worship, fellowship, and renewal. Lay and ordained leaders from the dioceses of Maryland and Washington offer talks to restore and grow our faith. As churches, workplaces, and conferences return to in-person gathering, this year’s Women’s Weekend honors the losses of the past year and celebrates God’s promise of new life.

Speakers include:

    • The Rev. Anne Weatherholt
    • Dr. Gail Tucker, St. Anne’s Church, Annapolis
    • Ms. Kate Riley, Youth Missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland
    • The Rev. Joy Walton, Assistant Priest, St. Peter’s Church, Ellicott City
    • The Rev. Lisa Siciliano, Deacon, All Saints Parish, Sunderland

The Women’s Weekend balances vibrant large-group worship with breakout workshops on a variety of topics. Engage your creativity, try a new prayer practice, or dive into conversations about your faith in smaller groups. 2022 workshop offerings include:

  • Making and praying the Anglican Rosary
  • Zentangles: an artistic prayer and meditation practice
  • Clay Pinch Pots
  • Book Club: The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
  • Ropes Course
  • Walking tour of Claggett
  • Walking the Labyrinth
  • Women’s Weekend Choir (pending diocesan practices regarding live singing)
  • Theological Reflections
  • “Death Over Dinner:” Conversation around end-of-life planning

COVID policy:

All participants must show a record of either full vaccination against COVID-19, or a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the event.

Masking will be required during elements of the retreat. The Claggett Center is regularly monitoring public health best practices from the CDC, local health department, and leadership in the Episcopal dioceses of Maryland and Washington, and reserves the right to change health and safety protocols at any time in response to the continuing developing public health situation in our area. We will send a more detailed update within two weeks of the event with expected protocols for the event, including detailed descriptions of masking and distancing requirements as we expect them to be at the retreat.  Please contact our office if you have a concern about accessing vaccination or testing.
